Option [8]: Access to Armed Access Control Doors
Wh en option [8] is enab led, th e Access Con tro l Card can be u sed to open an arme d Access Control Do or. When a
vali d A cce ss Control Card is presen ted to a reader that is assigned to a zone an d the zone is arme d, a ccess will be
granted and the Entry Dela y will begin . When option [8] is ON, e xtra security is provided since a user mu st en ter a
User Access Code to disarm the area.
For option [8] to function in the ON position, option [5] “Arm Only in the User Options (refer
to sect ion 5 .4 on page 11) and option [2] Disarm ing w ith Access Card in the Access Control
User Options (refer to sec tion 5.5 on page 11) must be disabled.
6.0 USING ACCESS CONTROL
6.1 ENTERING & EXITING
Depending on how your system is i nstalled, the re are various ways to enter a nd exit Access Control Do ors:
1) Present your Access Contro l Car d to the reader. Th e system will verify that the card
is allowed access accord ing to its assigne d Access Level and Schedule . If it is
accepted , the system will unlock the door. The rea der’s light can be programmed b y
the installer to turn green or extinguish briefly to indicate th at the do or can be
opene d. The re ader can also be progra mmed b y the insta ller to audib ly inform you
that the door can be opene d.
2) Whe n th e motion dete ctor detects movement (Requ est for Exit), it will unlock the
door to permit passa ge from in side.
3) Ente r you r User Access Co de on a keypad and press [
AC C].
4) If the A ccess Contro l Door is o n a “Door Unlocked Schedule”, you may be a ble to
open Access Control Doors without usin g a User Access Code or an Access Control
Card. Dep ending o n the door’s programmin g, the doo r can remain un locked du ring
the entire pr ogrammed sched ule or the door can unl ock once a valid Access Control
Card is presented to the read er during the sched ule and the n will remain unlocked
for the remain der of the schedule.
6.2 ARMING AND DISARMING WITH CARD
6.2.1 ARMING WITH CARD
An Access Control Card can b e progra mmed to a rm areas assigned to the door when i t is p resented to
the reader (door) twice within app roximately 5 secon ds without openin g the d oor.
The Access Control card must be:
presen ted to a door during its assigned Schedule (re fer to step 8 in Figure 5.1 on pag e 9).
presen ted to a door within its a ssigned Access Le vel (re fer to step 8 in Figure 5.1 on pag e 9).
programmed to allow arming (optio ns [4] a nd [5] in se ction 5.5 on pag e 11).
assigned to a ll areas that are assigned to the Access Control Door (refer to step 7 in Figure 5.1 on page
9), or assigned to at least one of the areas assigned to the Access Control Door depending o n how you r
Installer has prog rammed the Access Con trol Door.
6.2.2 DISARMING WITH CARD
To d isarm an d unlock a n Access Control Door wh en the a rea assigned to it is ar me d, pr esent your Access
Control Card to the reader (door).
The Access Control card must be:
presen ted to a door during its assigned Schedule (re fer to step 8 in Figure 5.1 on pag e 9).
presen ted to a door within its a ssigned Access Le vel (re fer to step 8 in Figure 5.1 on pag e 9).
programmed to allow disarming (o ptio n [2] in section 5.5 on page 11).
assigned to a ll areas that are assigned to the Access Control Door (refer to step 7 in Figure 5.1 on page
9), or assigned to at least one of the areas assigned to the Access Control Door depending o n how you r
Installer has prog rammed the Access Con trol Door.
